Ribbon Blender Machine

Ribbon Blender Machine Manufacturer

Lodha Machine is the leading ribbon blender machine manufacturer and exporter, specially designed for the thorough mixing of dry and wet materials. The ribbon blender is particularly suitable for handling powders in the pharmaceutical, food, herbal, agrochemical, and chemical industries. Our ribbon blender machines are capable of efficiently mixing materials based on their particle size, distribution, shape, angle of repose, integration, and moisture content, accommodating freely flowing solids with bulk density values up to 1.1 gm/cc. Dry meals, nutraceuticals, protein powder mixtures, dry juice blends, chemicals, fertilizers, insecticides, colorants, resins, and polymers can all be blended with the ribbon blender. The moderate shear given by the ribbon or paddle efficiently disperses lumps and clumps, resulting in a uniform mix. Among blenders, ribbon blenders stand out as the most effective and cost-efficient options available.

The double ribbon mixer design features inner and outer ribbons that rotate and move solids in two different directions continuously. This assures complete mixing by pushing solids to the corners of the trough with the inner ribbon and to the center with the outer ribbons. After release, the outer ribbons force solids toward the center discharge valve, making it easier to empty the mixed material.

Ribbon blender machines can operate efficiently even when the container is only 25% full, thanks to the protected inner and outer ribbon flights that maintain the mixing motion back and forth. High-velocity lump agitators attached to the trough's side walls break up clumps and agglomerates, further improving the blending process. Liquids can be added via the loading grating or a liquid spray bar installed along the trough's length. Additionally, the solids can be heated or cooled by incorporating a jacket, as the movement against the wall allows for effective heat transfer.

  • The ribbon blender machine is available in two shapes: U and W. The U-shape is suitable for low to medium volume capacity with a single shaft, while the W-shape is designed for large to mega volume capacity with a double shaft.
  • Batch sizes are based on 65% of the blender's volume, optimizing efficiency.
  • All contact parts are made of stainless steel 304, assuring durability and compliance with hygiene standards.
  • To prevent cross-contamination, bearings are installed on lights located outside the mixing zone.
  • The material passes through a charging port positioned on top of the blender, which reduces the handling of materials.
  • The side discharge facility allows for easy processing and handling of materials.
  • The monoblock design helps avoid cross-contamination, meeting all cGMP standards.
  • An air purge on the side entry seals provides better control of cross-contamination.
  • The continuous ribbon shape assures full discharge of the accomplished products.
  • A variable the frequency drive enables you to fine-tune the shear energy at various phases of mixing.
  • Belt-driven power transmission offers a quieter environment and requires less maintenance.
  • The top-mounted charging port and side discharge arrangement reduce material handling and assure total containment.
  • A paddle-style agitator, rather than a ribbon, may be utilized to combine delicate materials.
  • Capacity ranges from 50 kg to 2500 kg, catering to various production needs.

The process operation of a ribbon blender machine is straightforward yet highly effective. The structure consists of a horizontal trough with a central shaft and a helical ribbon agitator. This agitator features two counteracting ribbons mounted on the same shaft. One ribbon moves the solids slowly in one direction, while the other moves them quickly in the opposite direction. In batch-operated ribbon blenders, solids are charged into the trough and mixed until the desired consistency is achieved. The turbulence caused by the counteracting ribbons drives the mixing process, not the solids' passage through the trough. This assures that the materials are thoroughly blended, achieving homogeneity in the final product.

During operation, the central shaft rotates the ribbons, causing the materials to move in a tumbling and shearing motion. The materials are pushed to the trough's outside ends by the inner ribbon, and returned to the center by the outer ribbon. This continuous movement assures that all particles are evenly distributed throughout the mixture. A valve at the bottom of the trough facilitates the discharge operation by allowing for the simple and thorough draining of the mixture of materials. This design minimizes residue and assure that the blender can be quickly cleaned and prepared for the next batch.
