The machine's slant hopper is designed to accept pre-sterilized D-type ampoule trays. The magazine-style cassette can hold one, two, four, six, or eight closed ampoules on an eccentric ampoule rack that moves. The ampoules are heated by the intense gas pressure as the lever that turns them turns. One way to open an ampoule is to pre-heat it and then use the gas pressure (LPG + oxygen) to open it. Ampoule opening, pre-gassing, filling, post-gassing, pre-heating, and final sealing are all accomplished during the rack standstill in sequential order. Without the need for manual handling, filled and sealed ampoules are automatically gathered in an upright stainless-steel tray.
